Executive Director

Samira Regag
Executive Director
Samira Regag was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, and migrated to the U.S. in 2004 with her husband and son. In 2006, she began working at CYWA as a daycare worker, despite not speaking English. She attended ESL and GED classes at OIC under the leadership of Joyce Chester, the current CEO of Friends Association.
Samira pursued further education, earning a Child Development Associate certification, an Associate Degree in Human Services from Harcum College, and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University.
While advancing her education, Samira continued working at CYWA, eventually being promoted to Family Center Parent Educator, then Family Center Supervisor in 2020. In 2023, she became Program Director, overseeing various CYWA programs, including Samara House, FamilyCenter, Gateway Shelter, Food Program, and Housing Program.
In 2024, Samira was appointed Executive Director by the Board of Directors. Her leadership and dedication to CYWA’s mission are evident in her daily work, and she serves as a testament to the organization’s impact on the community.
Samira credits her many successes to her sister, Alia, who provided shelter and support to her and her family for nearly three years. Having experienced the challenges of navigating a complex system without support, Samira understands the importance of having the righ resources. This personal experience fuels her drive, dedication, and deep gratitude toward the agency, motivating her to help others facing similar struggles.

The Founding Vision

Late 1800s: CYWA is founded, dedicated to supporting women and children in Coatesville, PA. Our mission includes eliminating racism and poverty, providing affordable housing for low- and middle-income families, removing barriers to healthy family life, and promoting lifelong recovery from addiction.
